As austerity measures cut into the UK economy and the government falls back on the promise of the very markets that failed to bring about recovery, the UK’s top economics blogger and leading expert on the murky world of tax avoidance, Richard Murphy, asks ‘What if we had a courageous state?’

Murphy argues that there has never been a more important for our elected representatives to use the powers we give them for our greater good, to mend the economy and meet environmental challenges.

Speaker Richard Murphy, author of, The Courageous State.
